We had a very productive Leeds Women and Girls Forum meeting on Thursday 13th July at the Leeds Church Institute.
It was great to have Tim Taylor from Public Health attend the meeting and discuss the State of Men’s Health in Leeds Report, which you can read by clicking here.
There was unanimous agreement in the room for a State of Women’s Health in Leeds Report to be developed!
Themes to be covered and who we would like the Report to influence was discussed in groups – you can read all the suggestions in the Forum minutes – see above.
We also returned to the issue of ‘safety’ that was identified in the first Forum meeting, as a priority for women and girls in Leeds.
The outcome of the activity overwhelmingly suggested a priority of developing a Woman Friendly Leeds initiative (similar to Child Friendly Leeds).
You can read more about this in the Forum minutes (see above).
The event was also covered by a Yorkshire Evening Post reporter and appeared in the paper on Friday 14th July, you can read the piece by clicking here.
